Houston Master of Finance The Houston Master of Finance (MFIN) program is a 14-month, 32-credit hour graduate program that offers in-depth coverage of finance, accounting, and econometrics. World-Class World-renowned faculty, exceptional academic facilities, innovative curricula, and a long tradition of excellence make Tulane a world-class institution of higher learning. Our Finance program ranked 10th best in the world by the Financial Times (January 2008).
Weekend Schedule Students begin coursework in January and will complete the degree requirements in February of the next year. Classes are held on alternate weekend on Tulane's Houston campus. This program is a lock-step program; all students move through the coursework together as one unit and follow the preset curriculum.
Practical In Tulane's MFIN program, you attend class on weekends and earn the Tulane Master of Finance degree in only 14 months. The rigorous curriculum prepares you for any business challenge, and we handle all the details, so you can focus on learning. Our classes are small and interactive. You will get to know your classmates, faculty and the Freeman staff. You become part of the Freeman community, and you will never be overlooked or lost in the crowd.
Managing the Details The MFIN is designed to minimize the time you spend on the details so you can focus on gaining business and management knowledge. Exactly what does that mean to you? We handle registration, books, grades, logistics, meals, international seminar...just about everything. Essentially, we become your liaison within the Tulane community, working with other departments and vendors in your behalf. With our help, you can spend your time wisely, managing your work, personal and school responsibilities.
Career Options The ideal candidate applying for admission to the MFIN program will be a finance professional or a recent college graduate who seeks a career in finance but lacks the formal qualifications, area-specific knowledge, and tools needed to enter such a career. Students completing the Master of Finance program are equipped to compete for research-oriented finance positions, such as financial analyst, research analyst, financial engineer, risk manager, and quantitative asset manager. To Apply Applications are now being accepted. No work experience is required for admission, but strong quantitative skills and a bachelor's degree are essential. A Tulane Master of Finance degree is earned.
